This is ICAN Juliette's 5th and final litter. These Lab-Golden cross pups are a repeat breeding of ICAN's Musical and College litters, with black Lab ICAN Jammer as the sire. This litter is the J&J litter in honor of Juliette and Jammer - all temporary puppy names start with "J". The plan is for ICAN to take over the rearing of the litter at around 4 weeks of age. Hopefully all these pups will become assistance dogs in training.

Musical Mamas
Riley has left her pups who are 6 weeks old and moved back in over here to help out with Juliette's litter. This is the first time I have attempted to cross foster pups and it couldn't have been easier. I brought out some of Juliette's pups and Riley was interested and very accepting of letting the pups nurse. The pups were briefly confused, but then latched on and had lunch. Riley also got lunch which she hasn't received up until now with only 2 pups to feed, and she approved of that idea. Juliette seemed unconcerned when I returned her pups smelling like Riley. Having multiple dams sharing in the raising of pups is normal behavior in canine packs, so it should also be a natural behavior for the domestic dog who is considered to be a subspecies of the wolf. Seems to be the case for Juliette and Riley.
